Érika Melek Delgado is a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Harriet Tubman Institute for Research on Africa and its Diasporas, at York University. Her research and publications focus on African history, with special attention to Liberated African children and African childhood. She is the Associate Director of the Freedom Narratives Project. As a postdoc fellow, she was awarded two grants, one from Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). She is the main investigator of the emerging digital project “Historical African Childhoods” (HAC Project).
